Therapy Services
My approach to therapy is holistic, eclectic, and solution-focused. I utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused approaches. I believe in empowering you through our collaborative work together.
Everyone has a different experience and lens that they come to therapy with. Through getting to know you, your goals, and your needs, we can come up with interventions, strategies and approaches that will help you see the changes you are looking for.
Part of my approach is educating you about the different facets of our lives that can contribute to our overall sense of wellbeing and fulfillment. This includes looking at mental health, physical health, stress reduction strategies, meditation, effective sleep, nourishment, and exercise.

Do you feel overwhelmed by what is happening in your life or that your ability to cope has diminished? I know how that feels, and believe me, as a single mom with a career, children, a business, and my own challenges, I have been there, too.
Like you, I have had to dig deep to be the type of mom I want to be, to perform at my best for work and for those who depend on me, and to lift myself up when I feel overwhelmed and disillusioned. Going through challenges, and on top of that, feeling a loss of control, low energy, sadness, and/or anxiety, can really take its toll. Being in that space can interfere with our relationships, our work, our self-concept, and even our health.
In general, counseling can help because it allows us a space to vent, gain insight, grow, reflect, face accountability for our self-care behaviors, and broadly increase our knowledge about adaptive coping strategies, which, when applied correctly, make a world of difference. Through counseling, I have learned that we all have “blind spots” we can benefit from learning more about and addressing. It also just FEELS GREAT to have someone listen to us who doesn’t judge us for what we are experiencing. I can be that person FOR YOU.
Many of my clients come in with symptoms of lethargy and low energy and are feeling sad, down, and anxious. Many are also struggling in their relationships and some have a hard time getting restful sleep or losing weight. We are all beautiful and complex individuals, so there can be a myriad of causes that make us feel this way. Counseling helps us examine those causes and improve our approach to different aspects of our lives, which can help us start to feel better.
At Zen and Health, we view our therapeutic relationship as a partnership where we are constantly assessing needs, addressing concerns, learning about and implementing different strategies, and re-evaluating how we are feeling on a regular basis. Approaching each day with hope and intention and taking small, positive steps will go a long way into building new habits that can last a lifetime.
By learning about yourself, you can optimize your potential and your mental and physical health. We will put our experience and our passion to work for your improvement, and we will work collaboratively with other professionals, as needed, to make sure you get the proper care and attention you deserve.
